What this project demanded
The melt shop is the harshest environment in a steel complex: radiant heat, dust and heavy loads. A 3.5-tonne elevator there is designed to carry parts and maintenance equipment, not simply people. An EPC scope means design, supply, installation and commissioning sat under a single responsibility, and coordination with the unit's other contractors sat with that same team.
